 If you're looking for a good bio, go check out marvel.com. ;) So why do chicks dig the fuzzy dude? Kurt is a lovable, well-rounded character. Witty, kind, swashbuckling, heroic, a ladies man, respectful, dignified, playful, optimistic, religious, true, loyal... yet dark, self-conscious, and sometimes quite frustrated with the world. Some background: Kurt was born somewhere in the Bavarian Alps to Eric Wagner and Raven Darkholme a mutant also known as Mystique. The story of what happened shortly after varies, but Eric was found dead, and Raven selfishly left her son in favor of her own agenda. The infant Kurt was found by Margali Szardos a gypsy queen in a traveling circus. Not discouraged by Kurt's strange appearance, he was adopted into the circus and grew up as part of the family. Kurt eventually joins the X-Men, though the story of how this happens is also varied. Update: According to Uncanny X-Men #428 Eric/Christian Wagner is not Kurt's true father. In issue 428 it's revealed that a devilish (pun intended) looking man who called himself Azazel is Kurt's actual father. So um... I guess Kurt really is a "... Child of Satan! Child of Satan!!"  Quotes Nightcrawler: "If I had a normal life I'd quite cheerfully go mad and fall over right now" Kurt: You know, outside the circus, most people were afraid of me. But, I never hated them. I only felt pity for them, do you want to know why? Because most people never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes. Storm: Yes, well, I've given up on pity a long time ago. Kurt: How can someone so beautiful be filled with so much hate? Kurt: Why not stay in disguise all the time? You know, look like everyone else. Mystique: Because we shouldn't have to. Nightcrawler: "How I do my job, Wolverine, is my business, as long as that job is properly done. If I choose to do it with a little style, a lot of fun, where's the harm?" Officer: Done any praying lately mutie? Kurt: Yeah, once, I couldn't help it. It looks like it didn't get through though, 'cause you're still ugly. Officer: (takes out bobbi club to smack him) Kurt: I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut. Xavier: "How do you do it, Kurt? Here I am staring at the Abyss, and I feel myself drowning...But you're lived your whole life at the edge of such darkness, facing hatred and fear simply because of your appearance... and yet in all the years since I first met you and brought you to join the X-Men, I've never known you to give in to despair or even a trace of bitterness. No one better embodies the spirit the X-men seek to inspire in ALL mutantkind." Kurt: "Hey! Chicks dig the fuzzy dude! Right?" Kitty: "I am, like, so outta here. Later!" Kurt: "Oh, yeah. She can't resist." |
